UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Underfloor heating can be installed under a variety of flooring including tiles, carpets, laminates, vinyls and engineered wood. Heat rises from the floor surface and gently circulates throughout the air within the room.

This is a cost effective way of not only experiencing a warm floor surface but also helps regulate a comfortable room temperature. Underfloor heating is easy to use and can be set to automatically switch on and off as you desire.

How can I make my underfloor heating more efficient?

The floor type in a room affects the efficiency of the underfloor heating system and the time taken to reach the desired temperature. Tiles reach higher temperatures than other floor types and are good conductors with an ability to warm up quickly and cool slowly, reducing energy consumption. Engineered word flooring is the best wood floor to use with underfloor heating as it performs well with sudden temperature changes. Laminate floors and vinyl floors also work well with underfloor heating systems.

Is Underfloor heating cost effective to run?

YES! It most definitely is... IF IT IS QUOTED AND INSTALLED CORRECTLY! WIC flooring sticks very rigidly to an international guideline of 1KW of heating power for every 10/12m2 of room space. This ensures a cost effective and efficient heating system.

What thermostats do you use?

We offer Digital, Analogue, Air and Probe sensor thermostats.  The thermostats can be installed in a 2x4/4x4 box with direct lines from the D.B board, alternatively, they can be surface mounted on the wall and simply plug into the existing wall plug.

Our heating installation team comprises of staff that have been in this industry for many many years. Furthermore, we are able to fault find on existing heating systems using state of the art equipment. Thus, if there is a broken element beneath your tiles, we can locate the break and repair it whilst only having to lift a very minimal amount of flooring. We are easily able to replace existing thermostats as well.

How are underfloor heating systems better than conventional heaters?

Conventional heaters tend to concentrate heat to one particular spot. Underfloor heating systems radiate heat to all parts of the room evenly, heating up the room more effectively and where you need it most – on your feet where the air is coldest. Warm air rises, cools and then falls back down to the lowest point in the room. Conventional heaters circulate the warm and cool air creating drafts that can carry dust and allergens and dries out the air. Since underfloor heating systems distribute heat evenly, there is a minimal drying effect and circulation of dust and allergens, improving indoor air quality.
